Description:
China, 17th/ 18th c.H. 120 cm
Standing in martial posture with his right foot placed forward, his right hand holding a separate carved wood halberd while the left is placed on his hip, wearing armour finely detailed with raised designs, underskirt secured around the hips with a belt, tunic covering both shoulders with a section knotted to the front, his face displaying a severe expression with bulging eyes below raised eyebrows, painted facial details, black coloured moustache and beard framing his face and his hair combed in a chignon secured with a tiara painted with a central flowerhead issuing scrolling tendrils.
